The students will study the ripening of the
Middle Ages and the gradual manifestations of the Renaissance and Reformation.
Chaucer, the late Elizabethan, seventeenth and eighteenth century poetry and
the Puritan Revolution will be studied. The students will be required to
identify the common and the distinctive features of the poets as well as of the
period.
